About Honorable Polly Jackson Spencer: Polly Jackson Spencer is a Senior Statutory Probate Judge in San Antonio, Texas. She earned her B.A. in History from Duke University in 1970 and her J.D. with Distinction from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 1976. Judge Spencer served as Judge of Bexar County’s Probate Court No. 1 from 1990 to 2014 and is board-certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law. She continues her legal career as a visiting judge and mediator. She has served on multiple working committees, including the Supreme Court Task Force on Judicial Appointments and the Texas Judicial Council.
Throughout her distinguished career, Judge Spencer has been honored with numerous awards, including the 2010 St. Mary’s University Distinguished Graduate Award and the 2017 induction into the San Antonio Women’s Hall of Fame. She remains an active member of several legal associations and community organizations, such as St. Mark’s Episcopal Church and The Rotary Club of San Antonio. She is a frequent speaker on probate, estate planning, and mental health matters. Judge Spencer is married to attorney George H. Spencer, Jr., and they have three adult children and two grandchildren.
